RULPRwanda Union of Little People

Let's break the chain

A group therapy and self-advocacy session run by RULP

Group therapy on fighting stigma, self-reliance and self-advocacy for girls and women with short stature.

Historically, persons with short stature have been seen as vulnerable, and this has left society with a negative mindset toward them. They are still treated as children, given demeaning names, and made the subject of rumour.

The Rwanda Union of Little People runs group therapy sessions built around discussion — on fighting stigma, on self-reliance, and on self-advocacy for girls and women with short stature. Breaking that chain begins with women being able to name what has been done to them, in a room where they are believed.
